SEATTLE —

Calvin Finley pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the shooting death of Loomis armored car guard Kurt Husted during a robbery at a Lakewood Wal-Mart on June 2.

In a written statement, Finley admitted to the robbery and said when Husted "did not immediately give me the money I shot him with a handgun, killing him."

Prosecutors said Finley killed Husted as he carried a money bag containing $60,000 in cash and more than $100,000 in checks out of a bank branch at a Lakewood Wal-Mart.

After the plea, Husted’s fiancée Deborah Bishop said, “As far as I’m concerned, he (Finley) cannot be beaten, raped or shanked enough while he is in jail. And I hope he lives in a living hell until he burns in hell when he does die.” Watch her interview here.

Three other people, including a Wal-Mart employee are also facing charges in Husted’s death.

Court papers said Marshawn Alex Turpin, 20, who was also armed, grabbed the money from the guard's cart and ran out of the store behind Finley. He pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.

Turpin’s girlfriend, Brittney Maas-Baines, was also arrested on suspicion of homicide and robbery in the case. Heidi Hoffman of Lakewood police said Maas-Baines assisted Turpin with transportation after the robbery and shooting and lied to police about her involvement in the crimes when she was first interviewed.

Maas-Baines is also charged with first-degree murder, robbery, obstructing police and rendering criminal assistance. She is the only one not charged with aggravated murder.

Wal-Mart employee 41-year-old Tonie Marie Williams-Irby pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and first-degree robbery. Lakewood police said Williams-Irby helped plan the robbery that resulted in the fatal shooting.

Police said a fourth suspect, Williams-Irby’s boyfriend, 41-year-old Odies Delandus Walker, was waiting outside the store in a getaway car. Walker pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of first-degree robbery.

Finley will be sentenced to life without parole on Jan. 15.

The other suspects still face trial.
