Man Sentenced In Cocaine Trafficking Case

TACOMA —

A 24-year-old Tacoma man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

Thomas James Bell Junior was arrested last June as he was entering an apartment complex in Pierce County. At the time, authorities were looking for Bell in connection with a hit-and-run accident the previous March.

Investigators found crack cocaine and nearly one-thousand dollars cash in his pocket.

The U-S attorney's office says Bell admitted the money was from dealing crack.

Bell has previous convictions in both California and Washington, and court documents say he has significant gang affiliations in California.
