Man Shot 3 Times In Home Invasion Near Renton

NEAR RENTON, Wash. —

A 27-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot three times during a home invasion near Renton early Friday morning.

King County sheriff's deputies arrived at the man's mobile home on 196th Avenue Southeast after the man called 911 just after 1 a.m. The victim told deputies that three men burst into his home and shot him in the torso as he walked out of his bedroom.

Nothing was taken from the home and detectives said they believe the shooting was not random.

The investigation was delayed for about an hour when animal control officers were called to the scene to remove a pit bull discovered by investigators shortly after 6 a.m.

After the dog was removed, the King County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit began gathering evidence.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center where he underwent surgery overnight.

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Rick Price said the victim's condition is improving.

A female roommate who lives at the home was not hurt.

The three suspects are still at large.
