SEATTLE —

A 29-year-old man was shot in the head Friday evening near Seward Park, according to police.

 

Police said the incident started around 10:25 p.m. when South Precinct officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision with a shot fired in the 5800 block of Oakhurst Avenue South.

 

When police arrived at the scene, witnesses told officers they heard a crash, then saw a man get out of a car, walk around the car and then drive away,  headed north.

 

Witnesses then heard a vehicle collision and a single shot being fired.

During their investigation, police saw a large pool of blood on the sidewalk in the 5800 block of Oakhurst Avenue South.

 

Also, officers found several cars had been hit in the area of Wilson Avenue South and South Orcas, and a collision at Wilson Avenue South and South Graham Street.

 

When the man was found, he was learning against the window of his vehicle at the collision site on Wilson Avenue South and South Graham Street. The man had a gunshot wound to his head and was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

 

The condition of the man is unknown at this time.

 

According to police, a handgun was found next to the man’s car.

 

Police are still investigating the crashes involved in the incident.
