Man Shot In Everett

Birthday Celebration Turns Violent When Shots Ring Out

Everett, WA —

A 48-year-old Everett man has been arrested for investigation of second-degree murder following an early morning shooting in which a 45-year-old Snohomish County resident died.

Police say the two had been drinking at the time of the shooting.

Detectives removed more than a dozen weapons from a home on Harrison Avenue Saturday morning as neighbors looked on in disbelief.

The two were celebrating a birthday when shots rang out in the quiet north Everett neighborhood.

Everett Police Spokesperson Boyd Bryant tells KIRO 7 that the subject of the dispute is unclear and police continue to investigate.

Neighbors say that the victim recently moved to Eastern Snohomish County and that the two men involved in the shooting were longtime friends.

Residents of the home where the shooting happened are known for having some occasional rowdy parties, but neighbors say that both men were friendly and that they are shocked about the shooting.
