Man Shot, Killed In Bellevue Apartment

BELLEVUE, Wash. —

Police have detained a person of interest in connection with a shooting in Bellevue that left a man dead in his apartment.

Police arrived about 1 a.m. Monday at the Mar Ann apartment complex on Southeast 42nd Street near Factoria Boulevard Southeast, a couple of blocks from Newport High School. They found a man in his 20s dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

Police told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Rick Price that they detained one person for questioning, but there was no immediate information about who the person is.

"There's no indication there's any further danger to the public at this time. It's pretty contained," said Carla Iafrate with the Bellevue Police Department.

Price reported that a Volkswagen Golf was towed from the scene.

The investigation did not affect classes at Newport High or traffic on Factoria Boulevard.
