Man Sought In Bellingham Stabbing

BELLINGHAM, Wash. —

Police have released a sketch of a man suspected of stabbing another man on Feb. 14 in Bellingham, said Mark Young of the Bellingham Police Department.

The victim, a 60-year-old man, said after riding his bike to the Public Market around 12:30 p.m. he locked it up and offered a man standing nearby a cigarette. As he walked away he felt something sharp in his back, but didn't realize he had been stabbed.

The victim got back on his bike and rode six miles home. He said he didn't feel well, but didn't know what was wrong until his roommate saw blood running down his back, police said. He was transported to the hospital, treated and released.

Police are looking for the alleged attacker who is described as a white man about 50 years old, around 6 feet 1 inch tall with a slender build and short black or dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-gray or blue stocking cap, parka-style jacket, denim pants and brown lace up boots.

Police said this was an isolated incident.

Anyone with information about the incident or if you recognize the person in the sketch, call Bellingham Police Detective Dale Jones at 360-778-8823.
