Man's Hand Severed In Wakeboarding Accident

SEATTLE —

A local man is recovering after his hand was severed in a wakeboarding accident, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The man was wakeboarding on Hood Canal near Potlach State Park when the accident happened, officials said.

A helicopter brought the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Wednesday, and emergency workers ran to the chopper with a bucket filled with ice.

Later, video from KIRO 7 Eyewitness News showed the injured man flashing the peace sign.

Further information on the man's medical condition wasn't available due to privacy laws.
