Man's Pedophile Web Site Causing Controversy

SANTA MONICA, Calif. —

A former Snohomish County man who's a self-professed pedophile has moved to Calif., where his Web site continues to cause controversy, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Police said McClellan prowls playgrounds and other places where children gather then posts his exploits on his Web site.

The 45-year-old said he likes to look at very young girls, but has never sexually touched a child.

Two months ago, McClellan left Washington state when word got out that his Web site promotes the acceptance of touching between men and prepubescent girls.

The site shows events and places to go for pedophiles to meet children.

McClellan said his native California is full of kid-friendly attractions. He takes pictures of girls he sees in public then posts them on his Web site and writes about admiring the "little cuties." But McClellan insists his activities never go further than his Web site.

"I don't think any child should be touched sexually or non-sexually against their will," said McClellan.

Retired Los Angeles police detective Bill Dworin said he considers McClellan a threat to children but said he has not done anything illegal.

McClellan has a clean police record.

But parents in McClellan's neighborhood said that fact is little comfort and are banding together, afraid for their children.

Ron Tebo is taking aim at McClellan on the Internet with a Web site called JackMcClellan.com.

He talked about his mission on the CBS Early Show Monday morning.

Tebo said he was a victim of abuse and that's what motivated him to start his Web site blasting McClellan.

The Santa Monica police department said they have posted McClellan's picture online. Although McClellan is threatening to sue, the police department said they have no plans for taking the picture down.
