Masked Gunmen Pistol Whip Woman In Takeover Robbery

SEATTLE —

A woman was pistol whipped by one of two masked men in a takeover robbery at a west Seattle restaurant early Monday.

Police said two men wearing face masks and gloves entered a restaurant in the 4200 block of Southwest Admiral Way at 5:30 a.m. and ordered everyone inside to get on the floor.

Investigators said men took an employee to a back room containing a safe and ordered the woman to open it.

Police said the woman's inability to open the safe as quickly as they demanded apparently angered one man who struck the employee on the head with a large silver revolver.

After the woman opened the safe, the men took the cash inside and fled.

Both robbers are described as adult black men, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, with medium complexions. They were both wearing hooded sweatshirts. One man wore all black clothing and the other all gray clothing.

The injured employee was treated at the scene by Seattle Fire Department medics and transported to an area hospital by ambulance for head and facial injuries.

Detectives are investigating the robbery.
