McGinn Expected To Sign Paid Sick Leave Plan Into Law Friday

SEATTLE —

Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn is expected to sign the city's new paid sick leave plan into law Friday afternoon.

The plan requires companies with at least five workers to provide at least five paid sick days per year. Bigger companies will be required to offer up to nine paid sick days.

The City Council approved the measure earlier this month.

The new law will take effect next year.
