Streets were closed earlier in the day north of Lake Stevens, where the armed men were believed to have been hiding.

Police are still asking residents to call 911 if they see the men suspected of breaking into a Marysville home.

Trooper Lance Ramsay said the three were armed with two shotguns and a handgun and wearing camouflage clothing.

The men fled early this morning from a van they had taken from a Marysville home, leaving a kidnapped man. He was shaken up but not physically harmed.

Ramsay said the incident began around midnight when the three masked men went to the home, forced their way inside and took the man captive. The man's wife and two children also were in the home and not harmed.

When the intruders left with the man in his van they drew the attention of a state trooper because a headlight was out. The trooper tried to pull the van over. The men abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
