Minivan's Driver Forces Bicyclist Off Highway

REDMOND, Wash. —

WSP is looking for the driver of a minivan who police say forced bicycles off the road.

The van was driving erratically on SR202 near Ames Lake Road in Redmond Saturday just before noon.

WSP's Dan McDonald says 10 bicyclists with the Starbucks Racing Team were heading in the opposite direction when the van apparently forced the bicycles and riders off the road.

One of the riders rode his bike into the ditch, avoiding a head-on accident with the minivan.

Witnesses tell WSP that the van was travelling at a high rate of speed, crossing the center line and passed several cars.

The van is believed to be a newer model red Honda Odyssey.

Anyone who may have seen the van driving erratically or has information about it, is asked to call Detective Stacy Moate with the WSP at 425-401-7746.
