Missing Baby Found Dead

BELLINGHAM, Wash. —

Police have found the body of a 2-month-old boy, Jon Cecil Anthony Frazier, who was discovered missing from his home in the Whatcom County town of Custer early Friday morning.

The boy’s father is a suspect in the case that authorities are treating as a homicide. He has been detained and is cooperating with authorities, the sheriff’s office said.

On Sunday afternoon, investigators "developed information that the child's body might be located in the 7100 block of Dalhberg Road," the sheriff’s office said. At about 1 p.m., the body of an infant was located in a wooded area near that location, about a mile from his home.

A massive search effort began Friday morning after the boy vanished from his parents' doublewide trailer east of Custer.

Deputies said the boy’s 42-year-old father put his son to bed Thursday night and got up later to give him a bottle of milk.

The father told detectives he woke up Friday to find the child gone and the trailer door open, but nothing else was amiss.

The father’s 26-year-old wife, Brooke K. Johnson, the baby's mother, was jailed Thursday after being sentenced to prison for robbery. Details of that case have not been available.
