Missing Portland Teen Found With Man In Bremerton

BREMERTON, Wash. —

A child rape investigation is now under way in Kitsap County after a Portland teen, who has been missing for two months, was found living with a 32-year-old man in Bremerton.

Police surrounded the Bremerton home Tuesday night where a 14-year-old girl was found with a 32-year-old man, also from Portland.

The suspect met the girl while working at a store near her home and police said soon the two vanished and have been missing for the past two months.

Bremerton police said they have been aware the girl was in the area with the suspect for some time, but the two kept moving from house to house.

The man was arrested and booked into jail on charges of child rape in Oregon and in Kitsap County.

“We've developed our investigation and learned that the crime of rape had occurred here in Bremerton, so we are also currently investigating that,” said Detective Sgt. Kevin Crane of the Bremerton Police Department.

The girl’s family drove up from Portland after hearing she’d been found and they have been reunited.

Even though she is considered a runway, police said she was very happy to see her parents and wanted to go home as soon as possible.

The man she was with will appear in court on rape charges Thursday.
