Missing Woman's Body Found, Suspect In Custody

Suspect Is A Known Sex Offender In Thurston County

LAKEWOOD, Wash. —

Pierce County sheriff's detectives have found the body of the Lakewood woman missing since Jan. 8, and a suspect is in custody in the case.

The body of 37-year-old Carol Lynn Perez-Galvez was found on Fort Lewis property, not far from where some of her personal belongings were found scattered along the side of a road.

Ed Troyer of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department says the suspect is a registered sex offender in Thurston County who was already in jail.

The suspect had been arrested several days earlier on felony charges of eluding an officer, Troyer said.

Strange Clues In Search For Lakewood Woman

The arrest and discovery of the woman's body followed a two-day search for the woman and her husband, following her disappearance Jan. 8.
