SEATAC, Wash. —

A car and motorcycle crashed, closing four of the five lanes on southbound Interstate 5 Thursday afternoon near SeaTac.

The incident was near South 200th Street. Traffic was getting by in the HOV lane only.

The DOT said traffic was backed up four miles.

The lanes were closed between 2:15 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.

WSP Trooper Cliff Pratt said a 59-year-old Federal Way man on a motorcycle was making a lane change when he slammed into the back of a car that was nearly stopped on the freeway.

Pratt said the man suffered critical injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

The driver of the car was not hurt.
