No Decision On Filing Charges In Dupont Crash

TACOMA, Wash. —

Pierce County prosecutors said Wednesday that no decision has been made on whether charges will be filed following a crash on Interstate 5 in Dupont on Tuesday that sent nine people to the hospital.

Police said the driver of a car that collided with a SUV carrying ten people has been released pending the outcome of blood tests and further investigation.

Prosecutors said currently there was not enough evidence to support a charge of vehicular assault.

The Washington State Patrol believed the driver may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the crash that critically injured two children who were in the SUV when it rolled over.
