None injured in Roosevelt apartment fire

SEATTLE —

No one was hurt in an apartment fire in Seattle's Roosevelt neighborhood Monday, but smoke pouring from the building was visible from miles away.

The fire broke out on the fourth floor of a five-story building near the intersection of Roosevelt Way Northeast and Northeast 67th Street, the Seattle Fire Department said. Residents were evacuated and the building's sprinkler system was running when fire crews showed up.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the fire.

King County Metro said delays were expected on Routes 66 Express, 67 and 984 due to streets that were blocked by emergency vehicles.
