Officer Treated For Accidental Gunshot Wound



SEATTLE —

Seattle Police are investigating an accidental shooting at Larry's Market on Aurora Avenue North. It happened at about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Video: Officer Shot Twice In Bizarre Accident

Seattle Police spokesman Sean Whitcomb told KIRO 7 an officer was working in an off-duty capacity at the store when his holstered weapon discharged into his right leg. Whitcomb said it's possible the gun may have discharged twice.

The officer was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The officer is an 11-year veteran of Seattle's patrol bureau. Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate.
