SEATTLE —

Fire officials are investigating an arson in which the interior of an apartment unit was burned in North Seattle.

Seattle firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from an apartment balcony in the 14000 block of 12th Avenue Northeast in the Jackson Park neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

According to Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore, when they arrived at the scene, firefighters “saw something that just didn’t look right.”

Moore said investigators discovered that a fire had been intentionally set with food on the stove.
