BELLINGHAM, Wash. —
A man was critically injured by a driver who struck the pedestrian and then fled in Bellingham Wednesday night.
Police said a 66-year-old pedestrian was struck in the 4200 block of Guide Meridian at about 11 p.m. as he crossed the road.
The car did not stop. It left behind several car parts including a black passenger-side mirror believed to be from a late 1990s to 2003 Pontiac Grand AM.

Another driver reported seeing a car, that may have been red, driving erratically southbound on Guide Meridian shortly before the crash.
The victim was transported to St. Joseph Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
