Pedestrian Struck By SUV In Seattle

SEATTLE —

A pedestrian who ran into the street was struck by a sport utility vehicle in downtown Seattle early Thursday morning, police said.

The man, in his 30s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center with a head injury. He was listed in critical condition.

Investigators said the driver of a Jeep was traveling south on Elliott Avenue when the victim ran in to the intersection from Cedar Street. The driver had a green light, police said.

The man narrowly avoided being hit by another vehicle.

The two people inside the Jeep were not hurt.
