Pickup Crash Cuts Power In Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. —

A pickup truck that crashed into a utility pole knocked out power to about two square miles of Tacoma early Thursday morning, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

Traffic was stopped in the area of the collision at 74th Street and South Tacoma Way.

"It looks like a pickup truck took out a fairly major power pole," said Chopper 7 pilot Clark Stahl, adding that traffic lights were out in the area.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the driver got out of the truck, which was covered in electrical wires.
