Pierce County Judge Faces Molestation Charges

Related

TACOMA —

A judge has been charged with first-degree child

molestation after allegedly fondling an 11-year-old boy he

befriended two years ago while helping the child's mother in a

court case.

Deputy prosecutor Sunni Ko charged Orting Municipal

Court Judge Jeffrey Day with first-degree child molestation this

week in connection with an incident the boy says happened in

February. The 48-year-old Day is also a Puyallup attorney and a

substitute Pierce County District Court judge.

In a statement to

The News Tribune, Day said he's devastated by the charges

but confident the outcome will show that the accusation is

unfounded. Day will be arraigned April 28th in Pierce County

Superior Court.
