Plane Crashes On Runway At Narrows Airport

TACOMA, Wash. —

Two people have walked away from the crash of a small plane on the runway of Tacoma Narrows Airport.

A man who was piloting the aircraft suffered minor injuries, authorities told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Kevin McCarty.

A woman instructor was not hurt.

Police said the pilot was doing touch-and-go landings when the landing gear on one side of the plane collapsed.

Video from Chopper 7 showed the plane on the runway with its right-side landing gear collapsed. A medic unit and police were at the scene.

The plane is an Aero Commander, a twin turbo prop, said KIRO 7 Eyewitness News aviation reporter Rick Price.
