Kent police arrested two baristas accused of committing lewd acts while working at a Kent coffee stand.

According to police, the baristas worked at Twin Peaks Espresso, a drive-through coffee stand on Kent’s East Hill.

The arrests were part of an investigation that started in October after police received complaints about the stand from the public.

According to police, they received reports of baristas exposing themselves and committing lewd acts for customers. Payments for the acts were in the form of tips paid for the beverage and ranged from $10 to $25.

Undercover investigators used surveillance and drive up contacts to help with the case.

Detectives identified a number of baristas who committed the lewd acts.

Police arrested a 23-year-old Montlake Terrace woman for prostitution at the stand on Wednesday morning.

Due to the barista’s arrest, the stand was temporarily closed. The stand reopened Thursday morning.

Kent police then arrested a second barista while she was working at a stand in the Edmonds area, Java Juggs. The 19-year-old Lynnwood woman was charged with the violation of Kent’s adult entertainment ordinance.

The two women were booked at the Kent Corrections Center.

“These arrests do not signal the end of this investigation,” noted Kent Police Assistant Chief Pat Lowery.

Kent police said their detectives checked out several other coffee shops, and they all were compliant with local ordinances.
