SKYWAY, Wash. —

A woman police say is "extremely dangerous and paranoid" has been arrested in connection with a fire and shooting in Skyway.

Police said 51-year-old Ayanna A. Shamari shot a woman in Skyway on Wednesday night and then lit the group home where the shooting occurred on fire.

King County Sheriff’s Sergeant John Urquhart said Shamari, who lives at the group home, entered the kitchen and started shooting. The owner of the home, a 59-year-old woman, was hit in the stomach and a second bullet grazed her head.

A man was also hurt when he received cuts as he ran through a closed sliding glass door to escape the gunfire.

Detectives believe Shamari set fire to her second floor bedroom shortly before or shortly after the shooting.

Shamari turned herself in to authorities late Friday morning and was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault and arson.
