SEATTLE —

SeaTac police have arrested a man wanted in a string of vehicle thefts and home invasion robberies in two counties, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

A SeaTac officer pulled over a driver who was making suspicious lane changes on Wednesday night, according to a King County Sheriff's Office news release. As the officer walked toward the car, the driver sped away.

After a brief chase, the driver got out and ran away. With the help of the sheriff's office helicopter and a police dog, he was captured. He was wearing only socks and a baseball cap.

The 27-year-old man was wanted in a crime spree last Sunday in Edmonds and Shoreline.

The man allegedly forced his way into an Edmonds home and confronted the homeowner and family. The homeowner said the intruder fought with him, implied he had a gun and demanded the family van and a cell phone, then took off.

State troopers spotted the van in Shoreline and gave chase. It crashed at Northeast 145th Street and 15th Avenue Northeast, and the driver ran off.

Then Seattle police got a report that someone had broken into a home near the crash and told the resident he had a gun.

He shaved his head, stole clothes, called a cab and got away. Police think he was dropped off in the Northgate area.

Edmonds detectives said they recovered video images from a taxi the man used in his getaway after the collision and home invasion incident in Seattle.
