Police Arrest Second Teen Wanted In Stabbing Rampage

4 Injured In Attack On Lummi Reservation

LUMMI, Wash. —

Police have arrested a second teenager in connection with a violent rampage in Whatcom County that left four people wounded and caused a large multiple-agency response from authorities early Thursday morning.

Police arrested the 17-year-old Thursday afternoon. A 16-year-old was taken into custody earlier in the day in connection with the incident that police said started with a low-key party at a house on the Lummi Reservation and ended with the teens' turning violent, stabbing three people and beating a fourth.

Officers from several agencies were called to a house on South Red River Road on the reservation, west of Bellingham at about 3:30 a.m.

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Jeff Dubois said one person was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with a stab wound to the neck.

Three of the victims were treated and released. The fourth victim needed surgery and is listed in serious condition.

Dubois said blood was still visible on the porch of the home and in the street late Thursday morning.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Department, Lummi Nation police and Border Patrol agents were at the scene. Video from Chopper 7 showed a helicopter searching the area.
