Police: Burglars caught after breaking into deli

SEATTLE —

Two burglars were caught early Saturday morning after allegedly breaking into a deli, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The incident happened at 4:20 a.m. when employees from the Seattle water department called 911 and reported that a 29-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were breaking into a shop in the 2700 Block of Airport Way South.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the woman not far away.

Police said the man fled the scene and ran into a wooded area underneath Interstate 5.

A K-9 team located the man behind the woods and he was apprehended, according to police.

Witnesses positively identified the two suspects.

Police recovered several items taken from the store from one of the suspects.

The woman and man were arrested and booked into the King County Jail for investigation of burglary.
