Police: Cat Burglar Attacks Shoreline Woman

SHORELINE, Wash. —

A Shoreline woman who was awakened by a burglar screamed and kicked at the man, stopping him from sexually assaulting her early Wednesday, the sheriff's office said.

The 26-year-old woman woke up at about 2 a.m. to find the man in the doorway of her bedroom. She said something to him, and he left. He returned, put his hand over her mouth and tried to assault her, the sheriff's office said, but she fought him off.

The disturbance woke up the woman’s 18-year-old roommate, who saw the attacker run down the hallway and out of the house, deputies said.

The man got away with a laptop computer and cell phone.

The man is white, possibly with blond hair, 20 to 30 years old, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 180 pounds.

Deputies said he apparently entered the house through a window.
