SEATTLE —
Police chased a 22-year-old driver who struck an occupied patrol car and three other vehicles Saturday evening.
The incident happened around 10:17 p.m. when a police officer in a fully-marked car was on patrol when she spotted a man recklessly driving westbound on Northwest 62nd Street at 14th Avenue Northwest.
Police said when the officer attempted to stop the driver, he backed his pickup truck away and struck the officer’s vehicle. The officer was not hurt.
The man then fled the scene.
As the man drove away from scene, he struck three parked cars. One of the vehicles caught on fire after it was hit, and the Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene to put the fire out.
The man got out of his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Officers found the man in the 1400 block of Northwest 63rd Street next to a house and then apprehended him.
The man was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of felony eluding and two counts of investigation of felony hit-and-run.
The incident remains as an active and ongoing investigation.
