Police Find Possible 'Home Invasion Kit' In Men's Car

OLYMPIA, Wash. —

Detectives found what they said was a possible home invasion kit in a car three men were riding in before they ditched it following a high-speed chase.

“We found numerous items inside the vehicle, some of which are disturbing,” said Detective Jen Kolb with the Tumwater Police Department.

Police said they found a loaded handgun, a ski mask, two-way radios, duct tape, zip ties and a club inside the men's car.

Kolb said the items could possibly be elements in a home invasion kit.

Authorities said the situation began in Tumwater after a neighbor called police and said there were three suspicious men who appeared to be casing a house for about 45 minutes.

Police saw the men’s car and then a chase ensued to Olympia, where, police said, two men were quickly captured. The third man fled into a nearby ravine but was arrested after a short pursuit.

Investigators said some of the men had warrants for their arrests.

The men are being held in the Thurston County jail.
