Police Find Suspect In Eastside Manhunt

BELLEVUE, Wash. —

An Eastside school was locked down Tuesday morning while police searched for an armed man wanted in an assault case.

Manhunt Leads To School's Lockdown

The lockdown, at Eastgate Elementary School, ended at 10 a.m. after the suspect was taken into custody.

It all started with a domestic violence incident just south of Bellevue, where a man and his brother-in-law got into a fight and drew guns, police said.

When the wife of one of the men tried to intervene in the dispute, she was dragged 50 feet by the suspect's car. It was not immediately clear how seriously she was hurt.

Police, using tracking dogs, searched for the suspect and found him at a trailer park, where he was arrested. A gun was recovered.

Students who were on buses during the lockdown were brought to the high school. Police later reassured students the threat was over.
