Police: Man Hides Marijuana In Christmas Wrapping

KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. —

A routine traffic stop by an Oregon State Police trooper Monday night uncovered two pounds of marijuana wrapped in Christmas wrapping.

On Monday evening, OSP trooper Dave Chambers stopped a 2004 Cadillac Eldorado on Highway 97 10 miles south of Klamath Falls Oregon going 75 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour speed zone.

When Chambers contacted the driver, 42-year-old Jimmie Cumbee of Highwood, Mont., Chambers noticed a marijuana pipe and asked Cumbee if he had marijuana in the car.

police saidCumbee admitted to having marijuana and surrendered approximately three pounds, including two pounds in a wrapped Christmas present.

Troopers also seized four firearms, one of which was loaded and concealed in a box next to the driver’s seat.

Cumbee and his 17-year-old son who was with him were both arrested.

Cumbee was taken to the Klamath County Jail where he is being held on investigation of unlawful manufacturing a controlled substance, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed weapon.

Cumbee’s son was taken to the Klamath County Juvenile Detention Center.
