Police arrested a 21-year-old man Monday night following a report that he had confronted two women with a gun.


The women told police that the man had confronted them on the street at 606 SE Everett Mall Way because they were "looking at his daughter." They said that he then went to his car, opened the car doorand pulled out a handgun from under the seat, which he pointed at one of the women, asking "if she had a problem."


Police were called shortly before 10 p.m. When they arrived, the suspect was attempting to flee the scene in the car with another man, a woman and a 2-year-oldgirl. Police stopped the car a block away and found that the suspect had $3,300 in rolled-up cash with him, police said.


The suspect told police that the two women were laughing at his wife and daughter. He admits to confronting them, but says he did not pull out a gun, officers said.


Police found outstanding warrants connecting the man to previous charges of driving without a license, DUI, possessing drug paraphernalia, and refusing to comply with police. He was booked into Snohomish County Jail.
