EVERETT, Wash. —
A man was shot in the head during a home invasion robbery Sunday morning, according to the Everett Police Department.
Police said officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 2500 block of Walnut Street.
Officer Aaron Snell with the Everett Police Department said when police arrived at the location, they found a man who was shot in the upper body.
“There were four people inside of a residence, and two people come breaking in. Whatever happened in there, we’re not sure, but one of the victims was shot and everybody kind of scattered,” Snell said.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.
After the man was shot, he walked outside of the home to seek help from neighbors.
KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Stacy Sakamoto spoke with a neighbor, Sandy Clark, who heard the man knocking at doors.
“I heard a knock, and somebody knocking on a door down there and I just kind of listened and next thing I know there’s a young boy walking over here, standing there,” Clark said. “’I’ve been shot. I’ve been shot in the head.’ Blood all running down him.”
Clark thought it was a joke but realized the man was wounded.
“He said he woke up and had a gun in his face,” said another neighbor Tom Clark. “And it looks like he might have tried to get out of the way and it him back here, behind the ear.”
Officers believe the two suspects may have left the area in a vehicle.
Detectives are still investigating the incident.
Anyone with information on the invasion is urged to call the Everett Police Department's tip line at 425-257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-8477.
