Police say possible arson in 2 suspicious Everett fires

EVERETT, Wash. —

Investigators are looking into two suspicious Saturday morning fires in Everett for the possibility of arson, according to the Everett Police Department.

 

Police said officers and fire crews responded to a fire in the 1500 block of West Casino Road before 4 a.m. There were no injuries and minimal structural damage.

 

Before 5 a.m., police and fire crews responded to another fire in the 8600 block of 18th Avenue West. The blaze caused substantial structure damage to the exterior of an apartment building. Injuries were not reported.

 

At both locations, residents quickly called 911 and began fighting the fires, police said.

 

According to police, due to the nature and proximity of the two fires, detectives were called to investigate.

 

There are no suspects at this time, but police are looking for leads.

 

Police said based on evidence collected at the locations, detectives do not believe the two fires are connected.
