EVERETT —

What police earlier described as a “very suspicious death” after a woman’s body was found in Everett is now being investigated as a homicide.

Officers said a woman came to a mobile home in the 1400 block of 84th Street Southeast to check on her mother Wednesday afternoon and found her dead.

Investigating detectives said based on what they saw inside the home, they concluded that the death needed to be investigated.
Detectives are expected to return to the scene on Thursday.

The 69-year-old woman and her husband had moved to Everett from Arlington less than two months ago so she could be close to her children and sister, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Deborah Horne reported.

A neighbor told Horne the woman's husband, his son, and son's girlfriend, visiting from Oregon, drove off together Monday.

The neighbor said she assumed the woman went with them since there was no activity at the mobile home.  Other neighbors said they have not seen the victim's husband since he left and his car is not at the home.
