EVERETT, Wash. —

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of trying to lure a 14-year-old girl on March 14.

The man followed the girl in his car for about five blocks, attempting to contact her several times, police said. He asked for her name and when she didn't respond, he honked the horn at her.

The victim continued to ignore the man as he asked her to come over to his car. As the victim was entering her apartment complex, the man asked her what she did on the weekends.

The man, described as a black male, 18-19 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall with a skinny build, brown eyes, dark complexion with small dark facial scars on his cheeks, was wearing a red or blue baseball hat worn sideways and a red crewneck short sleeve shirt.

The man drove a red four-door passenger car described as larger than a police car and "dirty."
