Police Seeking Gig Harbor Bank Robber

GIG HARBOR, Wash. —

Gig Harbor police are asking for the public's help in finding the man responsible for a bank robbery.

At 4:55 p.m. on Monday, March 8, a man robbed an Umpqua Bank located in the 4900 block of Borgen Boulevard in Gig Harbor, police said.

Police said the robber approached the bank counter and gave the teller an envelope with a note written on it demanding cash. The suspect whispered to the teller that it was a robbery and then grabbed the cash and fled the bank on a bicycle, police said.

The robber was last seen leaving the bicycle at a nearby Costco parking lot, and then got into a green sedan that sped away from the area.

The suspect is described as a white man, 35 to 45 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a slender build. He was wearing an auburn/brown wig and a goatee. During the robbery he was wearing blue jeans, a dark blue baseball hat, a dark coat and and fabric gloves --one black and one white.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and charges filed against the person in this case.
