Police Standoff Continues At Bellevue Hotel

The FBI was negotiating Sunday morning

with suspects in a St. Louis-area bank robbery who were traced to a

hotel here just off Interstate 90.

The robbery was committed by three men Jan. 12 in a St. Louis

suburb, said FBI agent Robbie Burroughs, who was at the hotel.

"They're all from the St. Louis area, all in their 20s and 30s,"

she said.

"Our investigation told us they were in this area

Saturday afternoon. By early this morning, we were able to

pinpoint their location to the Embassy Suites here in Bellevue,"

Burroughs said.

Federal negotiators made contact with them about 8 a.m. PST, she

said, "and they've been talking ever since."

Negotiators have spoken with two of the three men, but "we

think all three are in there," Burroughs said.

"We're confident we're going to have them in custody. They have

certain conditions ... we're working with them," she said.

Hotel guests were asked to remain in their rooms until the

suspects are in custody, Burroughs said. Those with urgent reasons

to leave are being worked with on a case-by-case basis.

Bellevue police were also at the scene.
