Port Of Seattle Officer Arrested On Drug Charges

A 38-year-old Port of Seattle police officer was arrested earlier this week in Tacoma on suspicion of felony harassment and drug possession.

Tacoma police went to a home in Northeast Tacoma after receiving a 911 call to report an argument and threats just after 11 p.m. Wednesday.

According to reports, officers arrived to find the Port of Seattle officer upset with people at the house over missing property and threatening to get a weapon.

Tacoma police arrested the officer. During the arrest, they found a small amount of cocaine in his possession, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

Tacoma police contacted the Port of Seattle, and a lieutenant immediately went to the officer's home and removed the officer's department-issued gun and Taser, port spokesman Bob Parker said.

The officer, a four-year veteran of the force, put himself on voluntary, unpaid leave.
