BURIEN, Wash. —
Firefighting hopefuls camped out on the curb Tuesday night in Burien to be one of the 250 people the Burien Fire Department are interviewing for vacant spots on the force.
The department started accepting firefighter applications at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and will continue to accept applications until 250 have been received or until Sept. 3, whichever comes first.
Applicants will have to pass a written test, physical test and an oral board to get a job.
The fire department will be accepting applications between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
