Poulsbo PD releases names of officers who fatally shot a man with gun

On Friday afternoon, the Poulsbo Police Department released the names of the three officers who were involved in the fatal shooting of a man with a gun inside of a Les Schwab Tire Center store.

According to Poulsbo police, Sergeant Robert Wright, Officer Ricki Sabado and Officer John Halsted have been with the department for more than 15 years and are on paid administrative leave.

The shooting occurred on Wednesday around 5:52 p.m. when police were called to the scene on Viking Avenue Northwest and Edvard Street.

The officers took necessary action to protect the public and themselves from threats, said the Poulsbo PD.

The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
