As recorded on seismographs at the University of Washington in Seattle, the quake occurred at 12:18 a.m. and was centered 34 miles beneath the surface two miles east of Bremerton and 19 miles west of Seattle.
It was initially recorded at 3.2 magnitude, but the intensity was revised after a seismologist examined the data, according to a regional earthquake Web site.
