Racial Slurs Sprayed On Cars In Everett

EVERETT, Wash. —

Deputies are looking for whoever sprayed racial slurs onto vehicles parked in the Silver Firs neighborhood of unincorporated Everett, and they're investigating the incident as a hate crime, the sheriff's office said.

People who live in the 5600 and 5700 blocks of 136th Street Southeast reported the damage early Friday morning. At least five vehicles were spray-painted, with racial slurs left on some of them, Snohomish County sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies said at least two of the vehicle owners are minorities. They said based on what they saw Friday morning, the damage may be the work of juveniles who are familiar with the neighborhood.
