Recycling Business Owner Arrested In Metal Theft Sting

SPANAWAY, Wash. —

The owner of a metal recycling business was arrested in a three-month sting operation that ended in a raid of the business Thursday morning, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The owner of Parkland Metals Inc. is accused of trafficking stolen property after State Patrol and Pierce County Sheriff's investigators found road signs marked as Department of Transportation property at the Spanaway business.

Images shot by KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Rick Price showed trash bins and piles of metal scraps at the scene, where he said investigators were looking for copper wire.
