“The individual had a large laceration on his forehead. He admitted to the trooper he had fallen down intoxicated trying to get into his car before he started to drive,” Trooper Jeff Merrill said.

A trooper following Solid’s Honda from Interstate 405 to Highway 522 into Bothell Saturday night said Solid completely left the roadway at one point going into a ditch and getting back onto the road.

According to the trooper, Solid refused to pull over.

“When he got out of the car he was concerned about putting his hands behind his back. He wasn’t able to stand without utilizing some kind of support. The trooper had to help hold him up,” Merrill said.

Solid’s been convicted six times for DUI and has two more pending under deferred prosecution, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

Merrill told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that Solid was supposed to have an ignition interlock device but he was driving a friend’s car with a suspended license.

During Saturday’s encounter with the state patrol Solid’s breath test was 0.28, the WSP said.

Solid is the first person in Washington state to be charged with a felony DUI.

“If a person is accused of a felony DUI law, the public will know this individual has had prior convictions for DUI and the average juror will have a difficult time setting aside past behavior,” District Attorney Francisco Duarte said.

If convicted, Solid could face 15 months to five years in prison.

Solid is in the King County Jail and his bail has been set at $250,000.
